Administration and Branch Organisations Join Forces for the Future of Bulgarian Ports

A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communications on the competitiveness of the ports of Varna and Burgas in the context of the development of the Middle Corridor. The main challenges facing the sector were identified as outdated infrastructure and regulatory framework requiring a new management model. The need for strategic planning and high-level negotiations with Turkey on port fees at the Bosphorus was emphasised. The branch organisations will present proposals for solutions that will be included in the future common strategy for the development of waterborne transport.
